Pickler's childhood was a rocky one. She was abandoned by her mother when she was only two to escape from an abusive relationship. In 1995, she returned to Pickler's world and gained custody. It didn't take place as expected. At the age of 12, the court returned Pickler to her parents - whom she grew up with. Pickler needed to look after of her siblings without her parents. Pickler stated that time was limited and she learned how to take care of her family at a young age. Pickler was on the teams for cheerleading in both high school and middle-school. North Stanly High School, which she attended from 2004 when she graduated it was her high school. Pickler has also been a beauty pageant contestant. She was named Miss Stanly Country.
